Clam Shell end tips, or knot covers, are normally used when you are stringing pearls or other beads on silk or nylon thread. They cover the knots on the ends of the thread so they can't be seen.1. Tie knots, one on top of the other, in your thread; trim excess. 2. Put the opposite end of the thread (with or without the needle) through the inside hole of the knot cover so that your knot rests "inside" the cover.3. Close knot cover with pliers. 4. String your beads. 5. Put end of thread through bottom of second knot cover. 6. Tie two knots as in Step One, and trim excess. 7. Close knot cover with pliers.
