A jump ring tool can be used in place of two pairs of pliers to open and close jump rings. Considering how inexpensive they are, it is probably worth the investment, as they make working with jump rings so uncomplicated.1. Place the jump ring tool on the indiex finger of your non-dominant hand.2. You will see several slots on the tool -- find the one that fits the jump ring you are using. Using a pair of pliers to hold the jump ring, position it in the slot so the opening of the jump ring is slightly above the slot.3. Open the jump ring by moving the hand holding the pliers away from the stationary part of the jump ring -- do not open it into a "C" position, but rather keep the "O" shape by moving slightly past the stationary part. 4. To close the jump ring after adding it to your design, repeat these steps and position the jump ring back into a closed position by moving it back toward the stationary part of the jump ring.
