 | | Home Up Back NextChoosing the Right Crimp Bead|
The best determination of which crimp to use is based on the diameter of the material you are stringing with. You want to use a crimp that the stringing material fits through twice, with a minimum of room remaining. 2mm crimps fit nicely with most diameters of stringing material. If you are using a heavy dimaeter stringing material, a 3mm crimp would be a good choice. A longer crimp bead would give more support to finished projects that contain heavier beads. A shorter one is acceptable to use for lightweight projects. The object is to obtain a secure hold on your stringing material so there is no "slippage" of your wire through the crimp.
